I am Back at Heavenly Threads
Just wanted to let everyone know that I am back home safe and sound but not without a few delays. The trip to Greece was wonderful and the ladies we went to help were so grateful and a joy. For those of you who my bit be wondering "what trip?" I have the privilege of going to Greece to work with some single moms that are learning quilting and selling the things that they make to support their families. They are four wonderful talented ladies and it is a joy to get to "play" with them and teach them some new things. The trip was a great success but the flight home was 32 hours. We had delays in Germany and in Chicago. But God is good and except for being tired, we came home fine. I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes that keep us safe while we were gone.
Now on to the fun stuff.
Quilt Retreat Scheduled.
A Quilting Retreat at Trinity Pines Conference Center in Trinity, Texas organized by Jammie Ackley is scheduled for Sept 19th thru 22nd, 2013.
Cost for Friday thru Sunday - $125.00
Cost for Thursday thru Sunday is $170.00

East Texas Shop Hop - This year the shop will have a 50's theme and be great fun. It will be the first part of July and I will have more details as the time gets closer....Just mark your calendars and gather ups your friends. It will worth the drive.

Mystery Day- Jammie has decided to do the mystery class at two times. One in the day time for those who do not like being out at night, and one in the evening for those of us who work to support our hobby. LOL
Thursday April 25th from 10:00 to 1:00 AND 6:00 to 9:00
Beginner level but fun for all levels
Cost is $20.00 and that includes the kits for the project. They are losts of fun so if you love surprises, this is the class for you.
Iron Caddy. - I will be teaching this caddy that not only carries your iron but folds out to become an ironing mat. Great for classes or a small sewing area.
Friday April 26 from 10:30 to 1:30 AND 6:00 t0 9:00

Cost is $10.00 plus the cost of the Pattern - Two different sizes available Call for fabric requirements
"Love that Print" - Marti Hubbard is teaching this fun class. If you have been in the shop, there are two great examples displayed. When you have a fabric that is just to pretty to cut and you love, this is a great way to use it.
Beginner Level
Cost is $10.00 plus the cost of the Pattern - Two different sizes available Call for fabric requirements

Saturday April 27th from 10:00 to 3:00 - Must have 4 students for the class to make so Call and get in.

Airing of the Quilts - May 4th in Downtown Huntsville - Show is presented by the Tall Pines Quilt Guild and is something you don't want to miss. Admission is Free and there will be a raffle quilt drawing, silent auction, 100's of quilts to look out.
Fat Quarter Tuesday May 4th all day. Come in and buy 5 fat quarters for $5.00. Any over 5 is regular price. Come take advantage of this because unfortunately FQ cost are going up to $2.75 as of June 1st.
Accu-Quilt Day - Come and learn how to use the Accu-Quilt and make a fun wall hanging.
Thursday May 9th from 1:00 to 4:00 (new time).
Cost is $10.00 and it includes the kit for the top of the wall hanging.
Race Day.- Fun filled day for Jelly rolls. Come and join in on the day at the races. Jammie does all kinds of stuff to make the day fun. A prize with be awarded to the winner if we have 3 or more racers.
Saturday May 11th from 10:30 till 4:00
Beginner Level
Cost is $15.00 and you just bring a jelly roll (40 - 2 1/2" strips) and your machine. Get your friends to come out and race with you and see who the fasted sewing in the group.
Well that will get you started for the calendar. We are adding new classes all the time.
I hope everyone is enjoying the spring and the wonderful weather. It will soon be to hot to be outside and then we can quilt again.
