New Bucket List Club

Heavenly Threads Quilt Shop

“Come in as a Stranger, Leave as a Friend”

 Hello Everyone,

First I would like to apologize for not sending out emails.  There was a mis communication between myself and the web hosting company and I thought all my customers emails were transfered over when we went to the new company.  Unfortunately that was not the case.  I was sending out emails but no one was receiving them.  We have solved that problem hopefully.

Hope this finds all our friends happy and healthy.   I would like to take the time to thank everyone who came out and supported the East Texas Quilt Shop Hop. We had a great time and hope all of you did too. We had 61 people complete the hop this year. We met Monday and drew winners for the prizes. I have listed all the winners and their prizes on the web page. Congratulations to all the winners.

I wanted to let everyone know that the shop will be closed on Saturday July 24.   That is this Saturday. David and I are running away for the weekend. After all the activities we have been doing to get ready for the shop hop, I am ready for some relaxation. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We will open on the regular schedule on Tuesday.

One of the new events that are coming up is the “Bucket List Club”. Let me explain, we are not going anywhere, but we all have those “Unfinished Projects” or “UFO’s”. Well this will help motivate you to get some of them done. This is how it works. The cost is $5.00 to join. You will be given a page (or two) to list out any UFO’s that you would like to get finished. You will turn in the list to me. The person who finishes the MOST off their list will win the bucket of $$$. (Nothing motivates me like $$$ to spend on quilting stuff). To sweeten the “Bucket” I will add a $25.00 Gift Certificate to the mix.   Here are the rules:

  1. It must be a project that you have started by at least buying the fabric for, or have it cut out, or something like that. If it is a project in the beginning stages, you will need to at least get the top completed. (Would not have to be quilted).
  2. If you have tops done, then you have to get them quilted, binding done, and a label to be completed.
  3. Small projects needed to be put together in order to count. (You cannot say I want to do one pot holders but you could say I need to get the potholder of the months caught up.)
  4. All finished projects must come for “Show and Tell” at the shop before being marked off the list. (We want proof)
  5. List will be posted at the shop for additional motivation.
  6. Time frame is August 1st till December 1. We will have a party to award prizes and Show and Tell.

Come in and join the club. It is a fun way to inspire us to finish all those projects.  The cash would not hurt right before Christmas to. How many times have I heard, “I cannot start another thing till I finish what I have already started”?

Well that is all for now. Have a great week and happy quilting.
