News in the Shop:
Hello everyone,
I know it has been a while since you have heard from me. As normal, things have been hopping at the shop. If you have not been by in a while, we are making some changes outside that I hope you will enjoy. First, we have a new concrete sidewalk. (yea) That will make is easier and safer to make in into the shop. Ramp will be following soon. We had to cut down the two big trees by the driveway due to them being diseased and a safety issue. I am sure sorry to see them gone but what can you do. We are also installing a new white vinyl picket fence. I think is will be easier to spot us coming down Hwy 19. It is not completed yet but hopefully will be in the VERY near future. The last of the changes for now is a new sign. The sign is done but we are waiting until the fence is complete to put the new sign and frame up.
One major change to the inside is going to be an additional person at the shop full time. David is retiring from his present job and coming to help out at the shop. His date of retirement was suppose to be this Friday but Xerox has asked him to stay another month due to a coworker being out on medical leave. SO next month he will be here to help me with things. I cannot wait. :)

Classes and Important Dates:
Today is Fat Quarter Tuesday... First Tuesday of Every Month. Come in and get 7 fat Quarters for $10.00. Any over are regular price.
Summer time is so busy for everyone, we only plan a few classes that will be announced as dates are decided on.
EAST TEXAS SHOP HOP: July 7th to 19th. "Beach Blanket Bingo"
Welcome to the 2014 East Texas Shop Hop. We have 14 participating shops this year. Our theme is Beach Blanket Bingo Shop Hop! Each shop will be giving away three 2 1/2 strips and a Strip Quilt Pattern for you to use in completing a quilt project. By going to all the shops you receive enough strips to make a jelly roll! Hours each day 10 am to 6 pm, check each store page some hours may vary.

Row by Row Experience: July 1st to September 1st Sew A Season
The 2014 Row by Row Experience has expanded to include 35 areas in the United States and Canada. Click the license plate to access all the current information on the area you are planning to visit.
Each area will feature participating quilt shops that have designed a unique row in a Sew a Season quilt. Collect the free patterns by visiting the shops during the summer - July 1 - September 2, 2014

Quilt Across Texas: September 1st to September 31st:
Quilt Across Texas (QAT) is a statewide event made up of 60 wonderful quilt shops working together to host an event like no other in the quilting industry. Each shop will offer the very best in quilting and sewing products, service and fun throughout the event.
We are in Region 4 this year. What better way to gather some friends, see this great state and win prizes too.
